Community Development Institute
If Community Development is important to you, we would love you to be involved
The Community Development Institute (CDI) intends to strengthen and sustain the practice of community development within policy, practice, education and training, research and civil society development across many sectors. The Institute will be developed in collaboration with interested people and practitioners by late 2024.
In 2022, this Initiative was established by a group of Queensland citizens and practitioners based on a growing concern that there is no formal community development structure that can speak with authority about community development to government, universities, and other relevant parties.

There are many ways you can get involved:
-
Being informed by signing up to our regular communique’s – which will include updates of where we are at, and further invitations to participate;
-
Being consulted by coming along to online or face-to-face forums (you will be informed if you sign on via web site);
-
Being involved by bringing your skills, resources, and networks to one of the Special Interest groups or Working Groups as they are formed. Reach out to us if you have a particular interest;
-
Collaborating, particularly if you represent a movement or sector that you sense needs to be linked to the CDII;
-
Decision-making – by coming to the final Forum where decisions will be made.
